BPM finder: find the tempo and parts of any song
A free song BPM checker. Upload a song to see its tempo in beats per minute, its beats and bars, where the verses and choruses are, and how its loudness builds. It takes about a minute, with no sign-up.
How the BPM finder works
- 1
Upload your song
Choose an MP3 or WAV up to 10 minutes long. It goes straight to private storage, and nobody else can open it.
- 2
Our GPU listens to it
Beat This!, an open beat tracker from music researchers, finds every beat and bar and the tempo. All-In-One finds the song's parts.
- 3
See the results
You get the BPM, half and double time, the beats and bars, the song's parts with their times, and how loud each moment is. Then your file is deleted.
Who uses a BPM finder
- DJs
- Find the BPM of a track to beatmatch it, and see where the intro and outro start for clean mixes.
- Producers and singers
- Check the tempo of a song or beat before you sample it, remix it or record a cover over it.
- Video editors
- Cut your edit on the beat and the bar, and save the big moments for the chorus and the loudest parts.
- Dancers and fitness
- Count a routine from the song's tempo and bars, or pick songs at the right pace for a run or a class.
BPM finder questions
- What is BPM?
- BPM means beats per minute: how many beats you would tap in one minute while listening. A slow ballad is often around 60 to 80 BPM, most pop songs sit between 100 and 130, and dance music is often 120 to 130 or faster.
- How do I find the BPM of a song?
- Upload the song above as an MP3 or WAV. In about a minute you get its BPM, and you can see every part of the song with its time. You can also tap along to the beat for a minute and count, but tapping is easy to get wrong.
- How accurate is it?
- It is accurate on most songs with a steady beat, like pop, hip-hop, rock and dance music. If a song speeds up or slows down, it shows the main tempo. If it seems twice or half as fast as you feel it, use the half or double time number.
- Why does it show half and double time?
- People feel the beat in different ways. A song at 140 BPM can also feel like 70, so DJs and producers often need both numbers. Pick the one that matches how you count it.
- How does it find the verse and chorus?
- All-In-One, an open music model, splits the song into parts like intro, verse, chorus, bridge and outro. It works best on songs with a clear structure, so a long instrumental may show fewer parts.
- Do you keep my song?
- No. Your song is deleted as soon as it is checked, and the results are shown only to you. For 30 days we keep a short note of each check (the tempo, the file size and how long it took) to keep the tool running well, never the song or its name.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. You can check up to 5 songs a day without an account. When many people use it at once, you may need to wait a few minutes.
